Dementia Support - 105dB Track Day at Goodwood Motor Circuit
If you’ve ever wanted to experience a Track Day, now’s your chance! Dementia Support is hosting a track day at Goodwood Motor Circuit on the 22nd of October with the proceeds going towards Dementia Support.
What does the day include?
The day starts off with registration and an official welcome by Goodwood, followed by a safety briefing and track introduction by the chief instructor. Your vehicle is then noise tested so that you don’t break the 105 dB limit, helmets are provided, and you are given exclusive private use of the Motor Circuit so that you can tear up the track! 15-minute time slots are allocated, and you are allowed 1 guest free of charge that can drive or (if they’re brave enough) spectate if you wish. You can grab a racing trophy, prizes, and attend the auction.
The lovely non-profit organisation, Dementia Support, who’s hosting the track day at Goodwood Motor Circuit, does great things to help spread awareness on Dementia and to support those who are either suffering from it themselves, know someone who is, or simply for those interested in the topic.
Dementia Support uses Wayfinders to help guide a person and provide clarity on the dementia journey, “helping you navigate it, signposting you to diagnosis, support, activities, resources, help and respite, as and when you need.” Navigate to the website to find out more!
Sage house is their main hub where they offer an extensive range of activities throughout the week. From art workshops, bingo, chairobics, chatter tables, oomph exercise sessions (light exercise class), quiz hour, reading friends – which is a social reading activity, singing sessions, and turn back the clock reminiscence.
